For April 26, 2016. A SMALL STORY.

A SMALL STORY.

Two men are shoveling dirt into one wheelbarrow.
One says to the other, "I noticed you have strong wrists, where did that come from?"
The other responds, "I used to guide construction cranes and we spun are wrists to signal the crane operator to move his crane down. I enjoyed it very much. We moved wood debris, metal slabs and metal foundation beams(,); the beams would get tied three to one pulley system. It is quite an amazing feat if you think about it."
The first one keeps shoveling, commenting that his uncle did construction work but nothing with cranes.

  1. Yes! And I knew a construction worker who worked with iron without gloves on, even in the winter, because he "wanted to feel the iron" when he was working with it. It seemed quite poetic to me, but I couldn't imagine actually doing it!

  2. Hello Rene',
I was looking for a poem and found your comment! I can't imagine not using gloves for that kind of work but it is quite poetic.
    Love,
    Sam.
